The mission of International Women’s Day is to create a world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination. A diverse world that includes everyone and where difference is celebrated. As a whole, we can all #BreakTheBias and Fuel Bank want to do just that.

Working with the Fuel Bank Foundation provides supportive and encouraging environments for all, where everyone has a voice and all ideas, opinions, and concerns matter. Individual needs are accommodated as standard, enabling team members to meet commitments and respond to unexpected events without pressure, knowing we all will receive the help needed from the team.

We encourage a supportive environment where anyone can come forward and give their opinions. We strongly believe in the creation of workplaces that are inclusive and free of discrimination. Today the majority of our team are women.

The supportive culture at Fuel Bank Foundation, that recognises the importance of your life outside work (along with the positive approach to flexible and remote working) means that I no longer experience conflicts of work life balance. I think that makes me a better, more productive employee.

We believe that charities should look to empower women and support them throughout their career. Sometimes when women choose to start a family their career suffers but we think this shouldn’t be the norm. Organisations should help women thrive and allow them to be more flexible with their work.

Working at Fuel Bank has been nothing but a positive experience for me. Fuel Bank has been so supportive with my personal situation of being a single parent. Being a mom is challenging enough without having to worry about work and being amongst a majority female team helps too!

We want to continue to raise awareness against bias and to take action for equality. Celebrate women’s achievement with us and help to #BreakTheBias.
